The Filipino American community is invited to an essential Know Your Rights forum on March 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM, hosted at Apicha Community Health Center. This event is organized by JCI Philippine-New York in partnership with the Filipino American Legal Defense and Education Fund (FALDEF) to provide crucial legal insights on immigration rights and protections.

The forum will cover key topics, including the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), T Visa, U Visa, undocumented rights, and removal proceedings. Participants will gain valuable knowledge about their legal options and available protections, ensuring they are equipped with the information necessary to safeguard their rights.

The event will feature distinguished legal experts:

Prof. Rose Cuison-Villazor – An expert in immigration and constitutional law

Pam Carranza, Esq. – An attorney specializing in immigrant rights

Cristina Godinez, Esq. – An immigration lawyer and advocate for the Fil-Am community

JCI Philippine-New York and FALDEF encourage community members, advocates, and those seeking guidance on immigration matters to attend. With increasing challenges faced by undocumented individuals and immigrants in removal proceedings, the forum seeks to provide clarity, resources, and legal pathways available under U.S. law.

This free event is open to all, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with experts who are dedicated to serving the community.
